Gillispie was amazingly diligent. He flat-out outworked Donovan and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski in his six weeks on the job, which is quite a statement. Those are two that rarely get outrecruited . He also did as much, if not more, in six weeks to land Patterson, the elite power forward the Wildcats had swung and missed on the previous four years, than Tubby Smith did in three years of recruiting Patterson to Kentucky.]
