This team featured Issel, Casey, and Pratt. Casey was leading scorer at 20.1 ppg. Rupp recognized that "animal look in his eye" speaking of Casey. Rupp's win #772 made him the all time winningest coach in his 38th year as the UK coach. Rupp took a lot of criticism over his decision not to foul in a end of game situation when UK lost to Ohio State by one point in the NCAA regional finals.
